Blackstone Rangers Top 9 DOMA 2012 Playlist

We hit up Ruth of Blackstone Rangers to find out the bands top 9 fav. songs for the nominated DOMA 2012 artists this year.
Distorto-pop is the trio style of the Blackstone Rangers who got together in 2011.  Ruth Smith (vox, synth, loops), Derek Kutzer (vox, guitar) and Dan Bornhorst (drums) make up the current three members. "Into the Sea" is BSR's debut and current offering that was originally released on cassette and can still be purchased as such exclusively at live shows or anytime online as digital downloads.
With two Dallas Observer Music Awards nominations this year for "Best New Band" and "Best Pop Act" you should no doubt check out their music on go cast a VOTE in their direction to show your love!

Sofar Sounds Comes to Nashville

 

A few months back we had a chance to review the Sofar Sounds DFW show in Denton, TX which ended up being one of our favorite reviews not to mention "new favorite way to watch a show."

If you're not familiar Sofar Sounds, started March 2009 in London, England, brings together artists and bands with music fans to intimate living room settings all across the globe.

Not long after our Sofar DFW review we were asked if we'd like to help get things started in Nashville and of course we jumped at the chance!
The Nashville team quickly took shape through coordination from Sofar London, Sofar DFW and global music scout Mary Elizabeth who spearheaded the mission to launch the Nashville team.

Sarah Sellers HOB Dallas [Review]

Normally all our Dallas reviews are handled by local talented entertainment blogger Sarah Sellers.  Sarah got the night off last Saturday so she could open for Monica at the House of Blues in Dallas and of course we covered every second of the show!

Rain in the forecast, no kidding!  The 40 day and 40 night drive from deep west Fort Worth to downtown Dallas was a slow and hydroplaning one.  Needless to say it caused a slight delay in the start for Ascential Events "An Evening with Monica" House of Blues Dallas 8pm showtime.
