The holiday season has arrived and what a better way to kick off the festivities with your loved ones then by attending a classical ballet performance of The Nutcracker at Bass Performance Hall!

Texas Ballet Theater under the artistic direction of Ben Stevenson, O.B.E. has once again produced a masterpiece of classic holiday cheer for North Texas.  Ranked as one of the top 10 performance halls worldwide, Bass Hall is brought to life by visions of magical wind-up dolls, snow flakes, sweet treats and not to mention The Sugar Plum Fairy!

[Review] Jas Patrick - Tributaries (World End Style)

This is a test, a test of the emergency blogcast system.  If this had been a real emergency, say like the end of the world according to pre-Columbian Mesoamerican predictions by the Mayan's, official directions would have followed.

Let's face it, the Mayans make a great calendar but they're not exactly spot on with precise time keeping.  Then again maybe we misinterpreted their predictions kinda like a lot of other literature throughout history? Just saying...

Yep, December 21st, 2012 has arrived and 11:11 GMT (5:11am CST) has came and went without much "end of world" carnage.

In celebration of our survival for the human race we're posting our first ever EP Review.  Our subject couldn't fit the day and timing for us any better even if we had planned it and actually we did, sorta.

ZZ Ward Brings Her Dirty Shine to Dallas

Wednesday night ZZ Ward brought her Down and Dirty Shine tour to a packed house at Trees in Dallas. With her signature fedora, blinged out tooth and delicious blend of hip-hop and blues, there is nothing mediocre about this Oregon native.

Performing songs from her debut album, Til the Casket Drops, and Eleven Roses mixtape, ZZ delivers an effortless swagger onstage that feels completely raw and authentic when she performs. Jumping from the keys, guitar, harmonica, and yes, even the drums the amount of talent in this pint size singer is ridiculous.

Before the show started I was able to sit down with the singer and talk about love, what songwriting means to her and what's ahead in 2013.

Tennessee's residents have a famed past when it comes to giving their all - whether it's fighting against the British, or helping the less fortunate in its communities.
On Friday November 30th, and Saturday December 1st, national nonprofit Poverty Is Real hosted a weekend chock full of music in Nashville, Tennessee, a worldwide musical mecca.  Right off the heels of incredible sold-out shows at the Bluebird Cafe, Poverty Is Real kicked off an incredible night of music on Elliston Place, at the much-loved venue Exit/In.

Nashvillians flocked to the show and packed it out, raising money for local charity, Open Table Nashville.  The charity, which works side by side with the city's homeless and impoverished population, helps reestablish citizens, and provides a safe, nurturing environment for at-risk families and individuals.
