KXT's Summer Cut - THE HAPPY FUNTIME FEST 2013 [PREVIEW]

Let's all cross our fingers, toes and any other body parts possible in hope for NO RAIN and NO STORMS on Saturday evening/night.

KXT Radio is back in action this year with Summer Cut The Happy Funtime Fest. with a interesting line-up of National, Regional and Local acts for DFW.

The Avett Brothers, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals, Matt & Kim, Dawes, Hayes Carll + Milo Greene round out the national and regional acts. Area favs. RTB2, Oil Boom, The Orbans and The Roomsounds will be holding down the local sounds.

Art + Seek Village, Food Trucks and the Heineken Lounge will all be on site to feed our appetite, thirst and artistic needs.

Gates open up at 4pm followed by Milo Greene's live set to kick off the music at 4:25pm if all goes as scheduled.

It was time for a bit of a change in vibe in the lineup as we rounded out the second day of the festival. The 2 p.m. sun was blazing down and it was up to the bands to make up for any drained energy from the sun.

It’s finally summertime for a lot of folks in Fort Worth, and the weather finally allows us to soak up some of that Texas sun, all while enjoying some of the best in local music and beyond at the Fort Worth Music Festival.

It's festival time again this weekend in Fort Worth!  The line-up is well worth the drive no matter what part of North Texas or surrounding area you might live!

Galactic, Drive By Truckers, Old 97's, The Walkmen, Allen Stone, ZZ Ward, Delta Spirit, Whiskey Myers round out the top bill acts at the Fort Worth Music Festival this year.

Seated in front of an unlit fireplace, warm lighting and a few beers scattered around the house, sets the intimate mood as By Lightning performs at a house show in front of a small group of fans. This intimate performance was being recorded for Sofar Sounds Nashville. Their folky/Americana sound matched the Southern-influenced decor in the house off of 12th South.

Edgefest might have been a little less “edgy” this year, but it certainly wasn’t lacking in entertainment value, and definitely not in crowd support.

Indie favorites A Silent Film, The Mowgli’s, Youngblood Hawke, Capital Cities and Atlas Genius dominated the start of the fest, serving up the big radio hits we all know and love from 102.1 The Edge.
