Seryn: A Canvas of Sound

Blending visual art with music has never been a simple task for most.  Two different mediums can at times fight one another artistically and confuse or disconnect the audience.

Sometimes the right music can find the artists through seemingly separate channels only to collectively follow the art back to the true inspiration.

Maybe that is how painter/writer Ty Clark and filmmaker Kristopher Rutherford found the band Seryn?  Clark and Rutherford have both been inspired to share Seryn's "work of art" in sound.  The concept is to tell the story of six individual artists standing before a blank canvas that will soon become the bands new album!  This effort to capture Seryn's musical journey through film will be titled "A Canvas of Sound: Seryn, An Independent Film".

UPDATE: Folk Talk Sports Rock Merger

Update to RE: "No Bassist, No Folking Problem" - April 19th
Last month we did a quickie blog on Calhoun loosing their bass player to New York City due to some type of modeling aspirations or any other reason you'd like to imagine a bass player might leave his band?
At any rate, no worries.  Leave it to Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket to save the day! No, seriously the producer for The Hardline, considered the longest running sports talk show in DFW, Danny Balis is a long time acquaintance of the band and recently had a talk with Jordan Roberts of Calhoun which lead to an invitation to become the new bass player.
The new lineup's first live show will be on Saturday, May 19th at Fort Worth's new Near Southside hot spot - The Live Oak Music Hall & Lounge where they will share the stage with SERYN apart of the "soft opening" FREE celebration.
